For Our November 19, 2011 Rampart HS Craft Show Customers

To all our customers who purchased candles from us today and did not get a print out of our Candle Burning Tips (because we ran out of handouts), please be sure to review them here on this website and print them out so that you will get the best results from your candles.

And don’t forget that we guarantee our candles.  Please see our “Satisfaction Guarantee” which is also detailed on this website.

Thanks for stopping by our booth today! We sure enjoyed meeting every one of you and getting to chat with you.

We’ll be at Doherty HS the first weekend in December for their Saturday and Sunday craft show.

The Tri-Lakes PC Guy - Local Computer Help

I wanted to let all my soy candle fans know that my husband, Michael, is awesome with computers. At home, we like to say that he's got "the vibe". We'll be having a computer problem and just him drawing near to come help us makes the problem stop happening! :-)

Seriously, though, he loves to get computers set up and running smoothly, installing software, doing clean up to increase speed, and teaching others how to work with their computers. He also does excellent work with setting up the HP Touchpad, if any of you happened to get one before they were all gone.

If you need some computer help, he is a very personable and reasonable source of help in the Tri-Lakes and Colorado Springs areas.

Check out his Facebook page.

Using Soy Candles to Moisturize the Skin

Did you know that you can use your candle as a skin moisturizer?  Because soy wax is an all-natural vegetable wax it makes a nice moisturizer.  After extinguishing your candle, allow the wax to cool a bit, gently dip your fingers into the soft wax, and rub on your skin.  Be sure to keep away from eyes, nose, and mouth.

I am surprised by how many customers tell me that they like to use their soy candles as a moisturizer and have never been told that some of the fragrances are not skin safe.  All soy candle makers should make this information available to their customers.

Please be certain that the fragrance used in the candle is skin safe.  Not all fragrance oils are safe for topical use and could irritate your skin or cause an adverse allergic reaction.  If you are wondering which ones of our fragrances are skin safe, please ask.

Are Melting Pots Completely Fire Proof?

Interesting bit of information for today.

I know a lot of people have stopped buying candles and instead are trusting their melting pots with wax tarts to safely be on and unattended while they are away from home.  However, this was just my mother in law's status on her Facebook:  "I am thankful that my house did not burn down today when a Scentsy caught fire. Burnt a circle into antique singer sewing machine."

So please, be aware and be safe.  Do not assume that melting pots and wax tarts are completely fire proof.
